Festival of Play inspires builders of tomorrow in SA
1 / 1

Students of Mannum Community College in South Australia enjoyed a very special day yesterday as the state winner of the LEGO Education Learning Inspiration competition.

The challenge, which was inspired by the Festival of Play, gave registered schools across Australia 20 LEGO bricks and asked students to build a creation based on something they learnt at school this year.

Five-year-old Tamiera Giles was chosen as the SA winner with the judges impressed by her LEGO tree submission, an idea inspired by a lesson about deforestation.

Yesterday, Australia’s only LEGO Certified Professional Ryan McNaught visited the school to have some fun with LEGO bricks. Each class gave Ryan inspiration for what he should build, with some of the ideas including a bridge, native Australian animals, and even a space station.

Between now and the end of November, Ryan will be calling on a winning school from QLD, NSW, VIC and WA as we continue to inspire the builders of tomorrow.
